The camp, designed and directed by Bruce Turpin, creates an innovative and progressive training environment that emphasizes complete player
development.

The On-Ice Program will be station-based training supplemented with tactical drills and small area games.

Instruction will be geared toward mastery of the skills fundamental to the game of hockey with an added emphasis on learning how to "think" and use
your skill-set in game-like situations. We will focus on refining the fundamental skills and taking them to the next level using a TECH-TACT approach to
training. Each session will stress a particular TACTical component of the game. We will break that component down into a successive series of
TECHnical skill refinement drills. Once the technical skills have been mastered, we will incorporate them into a functional drill. Each session will finish
with a small area game (SAG) complementing the session’s tactical component.

TECHnical Instruction will focus on improving the fundamental skills of the game (skating, passing, shooting, puck handling, and checking). While
TACTical Instruction will build up your hockey sense by teaching the concept of width, depth, space and time, as well as your offensive and defensive
group tactics and read and react skills. The addition of the SAG will provide an opportunity to learn the game in a fun, creative and competitive
atmosphere while reinforcing the skills of puck protection and puck possession and emphasizing the transitional nature of the game. This environment
will force players to learn how to read and react to various offensive and defensive situations in small areas and at a higher intensity.

Players will also be exposed to position specific drills and teaching sessions that will systematically break down the skills and responsibilities of their
respective position (forward, defense or goaltender). Specialized goaltending instruction will be offered. Coaches will employ step-by-step progressions
through creative, demanding drills that focus on the finer points of positional play, leading up to specific game situations.

The goal of the TECH-TACT approach is to improve your ability to apply your skill base in the context of the game (ie. the development of hockey
sense) which is the core ingredient to becoming a successful hockey player.

Players will be grouped by age and skill level and then moved according to their abilities.
